Meet The Doctor

Dr. Andrea Clarkson, B.Sc DDS

Growing up in beautiful Richmond B.C., I attended high school in Vancouver and went on to complete my Bachelors of Science in Animal Biology in 1995 at the University of British Columbia. During these undergrad years my interest in dentistry was inspired in fact by my own childhood family dentist Dr. Fred Silberman. I graduated with my DDS from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago in 2001. During my four years as a dental student, I, along with 3 classmates, ran a children’s clinic on the weekends for low income families in downtown Chicago. It was such a rewarding experience and it grew my passion for general dentistry.

Upon graduation from Northwestern University Dental School, I practised general dentistry for one year in the small town of Farmington, New Mexico where I worked in a small family practice. By 2002, my husband and I made the decision to relocate to Calgary to be closer to home and to start our own family. Since then I’ve been practicing in the NW part of Calgary in the communities of Beddington, Huntington Hills and now in Crowfoot, all while raising our two boys. My devotion and passion for all aspects of family dentistry drives me to continually seek and increase my knowledge and experience so that I can provide my patients with the highest quality of care. I really believe in listening and educating my patients and using very conservative techniques in a  comfortable, friendly, relaxing environment. I especially love working with children and ensuring they have the best positive and enjoyable experience.

In November 2017, I became a graduate of the prestigious Kois Center for post-graduate comprehensive dental education  advancing my training in occlusion, aesthetics, surgery, implants and restorative dentistry and I am proud to be a member of my Calgary Kois study club. The Kois Center has truly changed the way I practice dentistry and I thrive in the continual journey of learning and growth as a professional. My ultimate goal is to ensure the overall improvement of the health and wellness of my patients.
